Great Book

This is a great tool for coaches looking to add variety to their practices. This book has helpful illustrations to facilitate each drill. Also the nice thing about this book is the detailed explanation of what each drill is looking to achieve, and gives variations of most drills to make them more challenging.

I coach HS Freshman baseball and use many of these drills to teach the foundation of the high school game. I would recommend this book to coaches of all levels.

The giddy joy that comes with picking up this tribute to outdoor cooking is comparable to the adolescent thrill of sneaking a naughty magazine into the garage. Not only does every conceivable meat, fish and fowl get its turn over the coals, there is a whole Barbecued Cabbage stuffed with bacon and onion and even a grilled CrŠme Br–l‚e. Raichlen focuses on creative techniques, employing everything from butcher's string and bricks wrapped in foil to inserting a half-full can of beer into the cavity of a chicken: when placed on the grill it simultaneously steams the bird and holds it upright, allowing the skin to grow crisp. Indeed, Raichlen's (Miami Spice; High-Flavor Low-Fat Cooking) approach is anything but shy. However, to limit the book to a manageable size, Raichlen presents just one or two recipes for each cut of meat or type of seafood. A very good book covering all types of meats & preparations to BBQ. Lots of usefull info.

great book
I used to eat every meal out. I bought a grill because it is getting so expensive to eat out. I bought this book to teach me how to use it. This book is great. It removes the guess work, for every question I've had the answer is there. One tip, buy the book before you buy the grill because it even covers what to look for in a grill.

The stuff that dreams are made of
Bought this book shortly after buying our Weber grill. After having a copy checked out of the library for 2 months, decided it was time to buy my own copy. My husband would take it to bed for evening reading, even had me read him a "bedtime story" from it (recipe for baby back ribs). This book is fantastic for those of us (like me) who need help with the grilling basics, but equally wonderful for those who are just looking for recipes. The pictures are wonderful, step-by-step directions on preparing the meat. Lots of great rubs and sauces in the back. Has both a general index and a recipe index.

GREAT READING
All true NYY fans will love this book. This "coffee table" book has great insight into the history of Yankee Stadium. The photography alone is worth the price of the book - it makes you realize what a tremendous part of baseball, and history, this stadium has been. The interviews and memories of many great Hall Of Famers and future Hall Of Famers are a joy to read. I highly recommend this retrospective on an American treasure. What a loss!!!
